A new multinational boy band consisting of Chinese and Korean members is gearing up to make their first appearance in the local music scene in two weeks time.
TimeZ, a soon-to-debut boy band formed of four Chinese and two Korean members, will make their official debut on Mnet’s music show “M! CountDown” on October 18, Mnet said in a press release Tuesday.
The officials said the Asian boy band has been trained for a year under Korea's entertainment conglomerate CJ E&M and Beijing-based talent agency Super Jet Entertainment.
“As we can see from the Chinese singer Wei Chen’s case, K-pop’s producing system is acclaimed around the world. We hope TimeZ can grow as global idol stars and aim to leverage our influence with overseas partners,” CJ E&M officials commented in the statement.
The group is seeking to appeal to wider audiences in Asia with their music style targeting both countries. The CJ officials said named Chinese songwriter and Korean music video director worked together for TimeZ's debut track.
