SBS' "KPOP STAR" gears up for season 2 after shooting poster of celebrity judges

Top Korean talent agencies JYP Entertainment, SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment got together again for the second season of SBS’ audition program, "KPOP STAR.”

Before returning to the show as celebrity judges, JYP’s Park Jin-young, SM’s BoA, and YG’s Yang Hyun-suk gathered at a studio in Seoul to shoot the official poster to "KPOP STAR -Season 2" on July 4, the show’s promoter 3HW said in a press release on Wednesday.

“I’m so excited and thrilled, wondering what kinds of applicants I’ll meet this time. It almost feels like I’m getting ready for a blind date. I’m so ready to fall in love with all,” said Park, revealing his enthusiasm for the upcoming show.

As a judge who will be meeting tons of young future artists and the trainer of the show's finalists, YG Entertainment’s C.E.O. Yang added, “I will not only choose good vocalists but also applicants that I can help them to develop their talents."

The show, a survival competition program where aspiring artists will be judged on various aspects including singing and dancing for both talent and star quality, is set to hold auditions in five cities, including New York, LA, London, Sydney, and Vancouver to locate hidden stars all over the world.

Park Jin-young's JYP, Lee Soo-man's SM and Yang Hyun-suk's YG are currently the leading management firms here, responsible for discovering and managing the careers of some of the most successful idol stars.
