Korean female idols Girls' Generation and ballad singer Lee Seung-gi were No. 1 on televised music programs over the weekend.

The girls' title track "The Boys," from their third full-length album, was the top song on KBS' Friday music show "Music Bank" for the fourth straight week and Lee Seung-gi took home his first Mutizen Award on SBS' Sunday program "Inkigayo" for his song "Friends."

The girls thanked everyone at their agency including SM Entertainment's C.E.O Lee Soo-man and SONEs [official name of Girls' Generation's fans].

"It's been a while since I had to make a speech for winning an award on a televised music program," Lee said in his acceptance speech on Sunday, adding that he wants to thank all his fans for showing their support and waiting for his return to the music stage.

Girls' Generation, composed of Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Sunny, Yuri, Seohyun, Yoona and Sooyoung, made a successful return with "The Boys" which topped online music charts upon its release on October 19.

Lee made his debut as a singer after being discovered and trained by veteran vocalist Lee Sun-hee and released his debut album "The Dream of a Moth" in 2004. He recently made his return to music in two years with his fifth album "Tonight."
