Davichi Kang Min-kyung cast in new sitcom
Singer Kang Min-kyung has been cast in an upcoming sitcom, according to her agency on Friday.
An official with Core Contents Media told 10Asia over the phone that Kang will appear in the sitcom titled "Vampire Idol" (translated title) which will show on Maeil Business Newspaper's new general programming channel mbn set to open in December.
Hence this will make it the second time for the 21-year-old singer of female duo Davichi to try her hand at acting -- her debut role was in SBS TV series "Smile, Mom" which showed from November of last year to April of this year.
"Kang will transform herself in this project. Her role goes well with her original image," the official explained of Kang's role in the daily sitcom about the prince of a vampire world attempting to become an idol in the human world.
Comedian Shin Dong-yeop, actors Kim Soo-mi, Noh Min-woo and singers Lee Jung and Min-ah of Girl's Day are set to appear in the sitcom as well.

Davichi, also composed of member Lee Hae-ri, has led a successful singing career since their debut in 2008 and are currently promoting "Love, My Love," from their third mini-album "Delight."
