한국화가 송근영 작품세계…자연과 마음으로 대화하는 순도 깊은 그림

송근영의 작품세계에는 마치 봄 동산에 핀 진달래꽃처럼 담박함과 은근함이 있다.

There is a sense of simplicity and softness in Keunyoung Song's works, just like azalea blossoms in the spring field.

소담스럽게 표현된 진달래꽃은 마치 봄바람이 산들산들 불 정도로 부드럽고 투명해 보였다.
사실적으로 그려진 진달래가 아니지만 진달래를 보며 느낄 수 있는 소담함과 은근함이 산들바람처럼 실려져 있었다. 진달래꽃잎과 똑 같게 그리지 않았으면서도 진달래의 향취가 물씬 풍겨나는 작품이었던 것이다.

The richly-expressed azaleas seemed soft and transparent as if they were in the spring wind?even when not expressed realistically, the simplicity and softness felt from the flowers implied a whisper of a spring breeze, the petals of the flowers rich in fragrance. Having enjoyed painting with such natural softness, Keunyoung Song has recently become interested in rocks and stones.

산길을 걷다 보면 우연히 만날만한 크고 작은 바위들이 멋들어진 흥취 속에 나타난다.

In her paintings, the big and small rocks on ordinary mountain paths are expressed in exciting styles.

먹물이 뚝뚝 떨어진 흔적들이 여기저기 흩어져 있는 가운데 화면 여기저기를 채우는 바위들은 꼭 바위처럼 보이지도 않는다. 바위나 돌이라기보다는 부피감을 지닌 하나의 커다란 덩어리들이 붓의 어울림 속에 신명나게 한 판을 벌이는 모습이다.

With ink drops scattered all over the canvas, rocks do not even seem to be rocks any longer?it seems more like lumpy clots are having a harmonious merry-go-round by her brush strokes.

오히려 붓 필치 하나하나에 우리가 쉽게 인식할 수 있는 바위의 형상들이 점점 사라지고 있다. 그만큼 송근영의 작업세계는 자유분방하다.

With each brush stroke, distinguishable figures of rocks disappear, showing the free style of Keunyoung Song's artistic vision.

감성적이면서 예술적인 끼가 다분하기에 어떤 면에서는 즉흥적이기도 하지만 또 다른 한편으로는 바위나 돌의 거친 부분이나 혹은 꽃잎의 미세한 피부 결에 이르기까지 섬세하고 부드럽게 표현하는 경우도 볼 수 있다.

Due to her sensitive nature as well as her gift as an artist, there are times when she is rather instant, yet there are other times when she becomes so keenly focused in detailing even the rough parts of stones, rocks, or the delicate softness of the petal grains.

꽃의 움직임에 관심을 갖고 촉감 하나하나까지도 놓치지 않는 예리한 감성을 지닌 것이다. 얼핏 보기에는 몇 번 그리고 나면 더 그릴게 없을 것 만 같은 단순한 바위나 돌을 그리기 위해, 돌의 형태감이나 질감은 물론이고 깊이감이나 돌의 내면까지도 이들과 대화를 하는 마음으로 그리거나 에스키스를 하며 시간을 보낸다. 꽃이나 돌 혹은 바위와 마음으로 대화를 하며 순간적이면서도 즉흥적인 순도가 깊은 그림을 그리는 것이다.

To paint simple rocks and stones, which at a glance do not seem to have anything to add once paint it several times, she spends times painting or doing esquisse as if she were communicating with them about the shapes, textures, depths and the interiors. While talking with flowers, stones, or rocks, she paints instant and highly pure paintings, which, in my opinion, is the reason behind her unpretentious work, implying that the images of the subject are expressed naturally. 글:박영택 미술평론가(Park Youngtaek, Art Critic)

한국화가 송근영 작가는 서울대 동양화과 및 동 대학원을 졸업했다. Shangri-la Project(Samsung Art & Design Institute), 2011 自首的音(서울에서 온 소리/上海 香江畵廊), 留(목인갤러리), 달빛 비친 뜰(금호미술관)등에서 개인전을 11회 가졌고 후소회전, 형색인전(가나아트스페이스) 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여했다.
