T-ara's Hyomin to make return to the small screen in historical drama
Korean idol Hyomin of seven-member girl group T-ara will return to the small screen with a role in her first historical drama, according to her agency Core Contents Media.
On Friday, Core Contents announced in a press release that Hyomin will play Cho-young, the wife of Gyebaek (played by actor Lee Seo-jin,) in MBC's upcoming series "Gyebaek (translated title)" which will premiere on July 25.
The new Monday and Tuesday, which will also star Cho Jae-hyun, Cha In-pyo and Oh Yun-soo, will tell the story of General Gyebaek who ruled during the ancient Korean kingdom of Baekje in the early to mid seventh century.
Hyomin made her debut in entertainment with a role in FTIsland's music video "Heaven" in 2008. She then made her singing debut as part of girl group T-ara the following year, while the girls are currently promoting the title track "Roly-Poly" from their new album "John Travolta Wannabe."

Outside of her group activities, she expanded her career into acting where she played a college student in SBS' TV series "My Girlfriend is Gumiho" and recently starred in horror film "Ghastly" set to open in local theaters next month.
