Jecheon music and film fest to kick off next month
The 7th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) will kick off its festivities next month at Jecheon in the North Chungcheong Province of South Korea.
The music and film event, which will take place for six days starting August 11 to 16, will feature a total of 101 movies from 26 countries and they will be screened under eight different categories including World Music Film Today (Official Selection), Cine Symphony, Music Insight, Korean Music Film Now, Family Fest, Theme and Variation, Jecheon Film Music Honorary Award Special and Cinema Concert.
The festivities will open with famed director Jim Kohlberg’s picture “The Music Never Stopped” which tells the story of a Henry and Gabriel who fill in the gaps of their father and son relationship through the music of the 1960s.
A number of documentaries and animated films will be shown at the festival including Pascale Cuenot’s “In the Track of Maurice Jarre,” Claudia Buthenhoff-Duffy’s feature “Komeda-A Soundtrack for a Life” and Garri Bardin’s “The Ugly Duckling.”

This year’s festival will also feature music performances by 50 artists including YB, DJ DOC, Gary Lucas, Winterplay, The Observatory, Superkidd and W&Whale, while Korean actor Jung Gyu-woon and actress Lee Yoon-ji have been appointed the promotional ambassadors for JIMFF.
