Japanese band MEANING to perform in Korea in July
Japanese heavy metal band MEANING is set for its first performance in Korea in July, announced the event's promoter Dope Records on Wednesday.
According to a press release by Dope, the rock group that recently recruited Yuichi Takada from Japan’s already-famous rock band Ellegarden, will perform in Hongdae district’s Rolling Hall in Seoul on July 2.
MEANING, a new-generation metal core band established in 2004 with members Hayato (vocal, guitar), Kawaguchi (guitar), Jun (guitar) and Shin (Drum), has been well known in Japan from showcasing themselves at an event held by Japan’s biggest punk rock label Pizza of Death Records as well as other big festivals in Japan including "PUNK SPRING," "KABUTO METAL FEST" and "COUNTDOWN JAPAN."
They also participated in several joint tours overseas, namely with Ken Yokoyama, the head of Pizza of Death Records and with U.S. hard core band Terror in the late half of 2008.
Under the direction of Ken Yokoyama in particular, the group came to release their first album “Brave New World” in the latter half of 2010 and saw it reach the top 50 on the Japanese Oricon chart in mid-November.
