SM Entertainment, a major talenthouse in Korea, opened its official Facebook account yesterday.


SM stated through a press release on Thursday that Facebook SMTOWN (www.facebook.com/smtown) which was established to widen communication with fans worldwide, will offer prompt information on albums, concerts and artists’ schedules in several languages for fans in Asia as well as those in America and Europe.

One of the services will include showing exclusive clips and images of a certain artist when a visitor clicks the “Like” button to become a fan while the agency also plans to make use of Facebook platform to allow music downloads and sell related goods.


SM’s Facebook account is currently promoting its upcoming concert in France, ”VISIT KOREA YEAR Presents, SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS,” to be held at Le Zenith de Paris on June 10 and 11 along with YouTube clip of Super Junior member Lee Teuk posted below which asks viewers to look forward to images and videos that will be uploaded in relation including scenes of K-pop artists in the airport, rehearsal scenes for the show and views of the backstage.

SM, founded by former singer Lee Soo-man in 1995, is one of the most influential entertainment agencies in Korea alongside YG and JYP Entertainment, well known for raising popular singers that date back to the times of H.O.T. and S.E.S. in the late 90s.

They currently manage the careers of some of the most successful K-pop artists including TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee and f(x).
