2NE1’s ballad “Lonely” stayed atop music cable channel Mnet’s weekly singles chart for the second consecutive week.

“Lonely,” whose lyrics is about a girl that bids goodbye to her boyfriend because she no longer feels the same way for him, demonstrates the vocals of the girl group on the backdrop of the guitar, cello, violin and other string instruments.

The song, from the group's digital single of the same name, was composed by YG Entertainment’s veteran musician Teddy.

Boy group BEAST’s sad love song “Fiction” debuted No. 2 on the chart.

Composer Shinsa Dong Tiger made use of a piano riff in particular to better express the sadness of the song which is about a guy, who, unable to accept a breakup, creates a happy fiction in his head to continue with his love.

Songstress Baek Ji-young’s ballad “Average” from her eighth album “Pitta,” entered third on the chart.

“Average,” which sings of the pain that still continues even after breaking up with a lover, was composed by Bang Si-hyuk, the head of Big Hit Entertainment.

Compilation album “I’m A Singer Competition 3-1: Songs I Wish I Had Sung” from MBC’s music reality show “I’m A Singer” went down a step to reach second place.
