Kim Jeong-hoon wraps up 1st Japan fan meeting
Singer and actor Kim Jeong-hoon held a fan meeting in Japan two days ago, his first in the country since being discharged from the military in February.
The fan meeting, held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama on Wednesday, had originally been set for mid-March but got pushed back after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami devastated the eastern region of Japan.
Nonetheless, 15,000 fans showed up at the venue to see Kim at the event held in the format of a mini concert. He sang songs he had released during and after his military duties as well as shaking hands with some of his fans.
"I got goosebumps all over my body as soon as I went on stage and saw the packed venue. I think I didn't sing well because I was so overwhelmed by it so I'm sorry about that," Kim was quoted as saying after the fan meeting.
Kim, who debuted through male duo UN in 2000, turned to acting and a solo singing career which has gained him enough popularity in Japan to list him in the top 10 of the prestigious Oricon charts several times.
He released his single album titled "PRESENT" which went on sale on April 8 after being discharged from the military in late February.
