MBC's TV series "Royal Family" extended by 2 episodes
MBC's Wednesday and Thursday primetime TV series "Royal Family" has been extended by two episodes, according to the major broadcaster on Monday.
"It has been confirmed that two additional episodes of 'Royal Family' will be shown," an official from MBC told 10Asia over the phone. "The show was slated for a total of 16 episodes but is now 18."
"Royal Family," which stars Yum Jung-ah and Ji-sung, tells the story of a woman (played by Uhm) who leads a turbulent life within a conglomerate family who owns the JK Group.
It has maintained viewership ratings in the high ten to 12 percent range amongst primetime competitors SBS' "49 Days" and KBS' "The Thorn Birds."
A romantic comedy titled "The Greatest Love" is set to go on air starting early May, after "Royal Family" ends its run.
