Korean TV series “Sign” has been sold to three neighboring countries in Asia, according to the show's broadcaster SBS on Wednesday.

A PR official with SBS told 10Asia over the phone today that the 20-part medical drama has been sold to Taiwan, the Philippines and Myanmar, while in talks with several more countries.

“Sign,” starring actors Park Shin-yang, Kim A-joong, Jung Gyu-woon and Uhm Ji-won, is set in the National Forensic Service and is about a genius medical examiner named Yoon Ji-hoon (played by Park) who is set to resolve the case of mysterious deaths through autopsies with help of his junior colleague Ko Da-kyung (Kim).

The show, which was aired from early January to mid-March this year, received favorable response at home, not only for reenacting several actual crime cases that made headlines in Korea such as serial murder in Hwaseong, but also for delving into the struggles between justice and power within one's workplace and society.

The show maintained the highest average viewership rating amongst Wednesdays and Thursdays primetime dramas for seven straight weeks, its final episode scoring a viewership rating of above 22 percent, according to figures by two main research firms.
