Han Hyo-joo chosen as model taxpayer

Actress Han Hyo-joo has been chosen as a model taxpayer, according to her agency BH Entertainment on Wednesday.

BH announced in a press release that Han will receive a presidential citation as a model taxpayer at the 45th annual Taxpayer's Day ceremony to be held in Seoul on March 3 as well as being named the PR ambassador for the National Tax Service for the second year in a row.

"Han has the bright and sincere characteristic which suits the image regarding the works of the public people and she has been chosen as the PR ambassador for various other foundations," an official from government was quoted as saying.

The actress has led a busy career as the PR ambassador for Design Korea, the prestigious G20 Summit as well as hostess for the Grand Mint Festival last year.

Han made her debut through popular sitcom "Nonstop 5" (MBC, 2005) and has since appeared in several dramas and films. She became a household name after starring in the hit TV series "Brilliant Legacy (2009)” and most recently appeared in historical drama "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown (2010)"

She had visited several countries in Asia to promote "Dong Yi" and will return to the big screen as the female lead in the upcoming romantic drama film tentatively titled "Only You" opposite actor So Ji-sub.
