Han Hyo-joo to attend solo promotional event in Japan for "Dong Yi"
Korean actress Han Hyo-joo will be leaving for Japan next month to take part in a promotional event for historical drama "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown," according to her agency BH Entertainment on Friday.
BH announced through a press release that Han will fly into Japan on March 10 to attend press conferences and the following day, hold interviews with local media outlets for the hit MBC TV series.
She previously promoted the series in other countries in Asia including Taiwan with her co-stars but this will be the first time for Han to attend a promotional event alone.
Historical drama "Dong Yi," about a woman named Dong Yi who grows up to become Choi Suk-bin, a consort of King Sukjong and the mother of King Youngjo during the Joseon Dynasty, ran from March 22 till mid-October, scoring viewership ratings in the high 20 percent range as well as breaching the 30 percent range.
The series will go on air every Sunday night in Japan starting April 10 on NHK cable channel BS Premium.
Han made her debut through popular sitcom "Nonstop 5" (MBC, 2005) and has since appeared in several dramas and films. She became a household name after starring in the hit TV series "Brilliant Legacy (2009)” and most recently appeared in historical drama "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown (2010)"
