The ratings for MBC's daily sitcom "High Kick 2", on a steady rise since its premiere in early September, surpassed the 20 percent mark yesterday, according to a survey on Friday.


"Kick" scored its highest viewership rating on Thursday, reporting a 20.2 percent rating for its 40th episode, said TNS Media Korea. The figure gained by 1.1 percent from the previous day.

The sitcom did not breach the 20 percent mark on a poll by AGB Nielsen Media Research but recorded its highest rating of 16.3 percent.

"Kick", a family series directed by Kim Byung-ook, is the sequel to "High Kick 1" which was widely popular between 2006 and 2007.

Both series of "High Kick" have been sold to several countries in Asia, with the sequel selling in Japan for the highest price ever for a South Korean sitcom.
