Big name comedians from Korea and Japanese are to visit Busan, South Korea for the pre-special event of Asia's first international film festival.

The 2012 Korea-Japan International Comedy Festival will be held at Haeundae Beach in Busan on August 9, to wish the successful holding of the Busan International Comedy Festival next year, promotion firm YTree Media said Wednesday.

To celebrate the launch, the event's chief organizer and comedian Kim Jun-ho, honorary organizer Jeon Yoo-sung, Japanese comedians Jinnai Tomonori and Choi Shin-hwa will attend next month's event and hold a press conference as well.

“Like K-pop, we hope to coin the term 'K-comedy' through next year's festival,” Kim was quoted as saying.

The one-day event will unfold with many comedians performing at the outdoor special stage in the beach.
