JK Kim’s “Coordination” captures No. 1 spot on Gaon chart

JK Kim Dong-uk positioned himself on first place on the weekly Gaon singles chart with song “Coordination” during the week of June 12 to 18.

“Coordination,” which sings of an open heart and an open world, was performed during MBC’s music reality show “I’m A Singer” on June 12, in which Kim won second place among seven contestants.

The song is a rendition of songstress Han Young-ae’s song which was released as one of the tracks to her third album released in 1992.

4Men went up a step to claim the No. 2 spot on the latest chart with ballad “At Least Just Once” which is the title track to their fourth album “The Artist” released on June 7.

The song is about a man who yearns to see his past love once more while praying for her happiness wherever she is.

Girl group Secret’s “Starlight Moonlight,” a cheerful dance number with a repetitive melody, slid down a notch to land at the No. 3 spot.

The song is from the group’s second single released at the beginning of this month and themed on romance and nostalgia of the 70s.

On the albums' section, special album “2011 Big Bang Live Concert ‘BIG SHOW’” featuring the live performances of Korea's hottest male bands Big Bang emerged atop the chart.

The album, released on June 11, contains not only the group’s hit songs but also individual songs by members including Seungri’s “V.V.I.P.” Daesung’s “Baby Don’t Cry" and unit group GD& T.O.P. “High High.”

Five-member girl band f(x)’s “Hot Summer` f(x) 1st Album Repackage” whose theme goes with the season, came next on the chart.

Released on June 14, the album is composed of total 14 tracks including its title song “Hot Summer” as well as past hit songs “La chA TA,” “Danger” and “Lollipop” that are mostly dance numbers.

Taking the No. 3 spot was “I'm A Singer: Competition ①” released in the format of CD for offline sales for the first time on June 9.

The record is composed of songs performed by seven contestants of the MBC’s “I’m A Singer” show throughout May that are Lee So-ra, Yim Jae-beum, Lena Park, Kim Bum-soo, Yoon Do-hyun, Kim Yeon-woo and BMK.

The songs the seven singers performed throughout that period was a big hit at the time, making to the top slots of various music charts last month, with some of them continuing to stay there in June as well.
