Kim Jeong-hoon and Yoon Jin-seo have been cast in a new film.


Kim’s agency Mersenne Entertainment confirmed over the phone with 10Asia today that Kim will star in an upcoming film titled “Punch Line,” alongside veteran actor Yoo Dong-geun.

Yoon’s casting was confirmed separately by a press release from her agency Wellmade STARM which was also released today.


In the film about a government minister who will be strict and uptight in performing his duties but is also an ordinary father, played by Yoo, Kim will play his rebellious son who loves R&B and hip-hop music and continues to be at odds with his father over his freedom.

Yoon, taking on the role of the lively assistant of his father, will be passionate in performing her tasks but also believe strongly in having her freedom when the clock strikes six.


The film, helmed by director Park Joon-gu will crank in later this month, to be screened around the latter half of this year.


Kim, who is a singer and an actor, debuted through male duo UN with the single “Voice Mail” in 2000. After the group disbanded in 2005 he turned to acting, starring in several dramas including the runway hit MBC drama “Goong” in 2006.


He then resumed his music career in Japan where he has released several singles and albums under the name John Hoon. He recently released his latest single titled "PRESENT" on April 8 after being discharged from the military in late February and is also set to star in cable network tvN's Wednesday and Thursday drama "I Need Romance (translated title)" opposite actress Jo Yeo-jeong.

Yoon, who debuted in 2001 with the film “L’Abri” has since starred in big screen projects including “Beastie Boys," The Moonlight Of Seoul” (2008), “Someone Behind You” (2007), “A Good Day To Have An Affairs” (2007), “All For Love” (2005) and most recently, “Secret” (2010) in which she co-starred with actor Yoo Ji-Tae. She also starred in TV series “Fugitive: Plan B” (KBS, 2010) and “The Return of Iljimae” (MBC, 2009).
