K-pop idol T.O.P of boy band Big Bang has been offered a role in a new KBS drama, according to his agency YG Entertainment.

A PR official from YG told 10Asia over the phone on Thursday that T.O.P is "looking into a role in an upcoming KBS series tentatively titled 'Happy Youth Days.'"
The show will mark the return of famed Korean director Yoon Seok-ho whose previous works include smash hits "Winter Sonata" and "Autumn Tale." The show is slated to air sometime in September as the follow-up to upcoming series "Spy Myung-wol."

YG's official added, "T.O.P will probably make his final decision when he returns to Korea after Big Bang's ongoing tour in Japan."

Big Bang is set to hold the final performance of their promotional concert tour titled “Love&Hope” tonight which kicked off in Osaka last week.
Born Choi Seung-hyun, T.O.P made his debut in 2006 as the rapper in Big Bang. He expanded his career into acting with his appearances in TV series "I Am Sam" and in the blockbuster smash hit "IRIS," where he played an assassin.

He then made his big screen debut last year in war epic "71 Into The Fire" alongside Hallyu star Kwon Sang-woo and Cha Seung-won.

As a group, Big Bang has released several albums and hit songs such as "Lies" and "Haru Haru" and crossed over into the Japanese music market in June 2009 with their debut single "My Heaven" which reached No. 3 on the prestigious Oricon daily singles chart and they toured three cities in the country which attracted a total of 60,000 fans.

They recently scored the No. 1 spot on Oricon's weekly chart with their second Japanese album 『BIGBANG 2』, which went on sale in the country on May 11, making them the third Korean and Asian artist to achieve the feat.
