Han Hye-jin says almost became Fin.K.L. member
Actress Han Hye-jin has said she almost debuted as a member of Fin.K.L., one of Korea's first and most popular girl groups in the late 90s.
During a pre-recorded session of KBS' variety show "Happy Together 3" set to go on air today, Han explained that she was walking on a street when she was in high school when a man approached her and asked if she would like to audition for a band that will be named Fin.K.L.
Han then said she haughtily turned down the offer, telling him that she is going to become an actress but later on saw that a group called Fin.K.L. really made a debut and it made her upset to see how popular they became.
Fin.K.L., a quartet composed of members Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Sung Yu-ri and Lee Jin, was one of the top two girl groups in Korea up against S.E.S formed of Eugene, Bada and Shoo.
Han, 29, has appeared in a number of movies and TV series since her acting debut in 2002. She rose to fame with her roles in MBC's "Be Strong, Geum Soon!" (2005) and historical drama "Jumong" (2006).
She is currently working on an upcoming KBS TV series tentatively titled "Thorn Birds" set to premiere on March 2 where she will play the role of Seo Jung-eun who grows up at an orphanage and decides to look for her birth mother after she becomes a star.
