Starring Park Yong-woo, Ryu Seung-ryong, Sung Dong-il, Sung Ji-ru and Kim Yeo-jin, "Children..." gives a vivid portrayal of the unresolved case of the death of five primary-school boys in Daegu city who first went missing after taking off to a nearby mountain to catch frogs in the spring of 1991.

About a 500,000-strong police force was mobilized to comb the village and mountain in search of the boys, making headlines nationwide. Their remains were found at a construction site for a high school in 2002 with evident evidence of a homicide but the case got closed upon reaching the statute of limitations in 2006.
