Four-member girl Secret and Big Bang’s member Seungri were again named winners to televised music shows aired on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Secret celebrated their second consecutive win on KBS’ “Music Bank,” after their song “Shy boy” ranked on top of the program’s K-chart, successfully beating its contender songstress IU’s “Good Day.”
“We will promise to work harder for our fans who rooted for us... We present this honor to you,” said Secret members in their acceptance speech as one of the members Jun Hyo-seong, broke into tears of joy.
Secret, composed of other members, Han Sun-hwa, Song Ji-eun and Zinger debuted in October 2009 with the digital single “I Want You Back,” and rose to popularity with songs “Magic,” and “Madonna.”
“I’m not sure if I really deserve this prize,” said Seungri upon receiving the Mutizen Award given to the winner. “I pass this honor to my family members in YG Entertainment who worked hard to get me this far. And I also thank my fans.”
"WHAT CAN I DO,” is one of the two title tracks to Seungri’s first mini-album together with “V.V.I.P” released on late January, that expressed the pain felt after a lover’s betrayal. Seungri took part in composing, writing lyrics and arranging the choreography for the dance for the first time.
