Andy Lau, Fan Bingbing to visit Korea for upcoming film
Chinese actor Andy Lau and actress Fan Bingbing will visit Korea next week to promote their upcoming movie, according to the film's promoter KJH&Company on Monday.
KJH announced in a press release that Andy Lau and Fan Bingbing will be in Korea on August 11 to meet with local media outlets and attend the red carpet event for action pic "Shaolin" set to open in local theaters on August 25.
"Shaolin," helmed by director Benny Chan, tells the story of General Hou Jie (Lau), an evil warlord that is forced to rethink his ways after being betrayed by his protege Cao Man (Nicholas Tse). The action epic also stars Jackie Chan, Fan Bingbing and Wu Jing.
Andy Lau is a Hong Kong Cantopop singer, actor and film producer and has been one of Hong Kong's most commercially successful actors since the mid-1980s. He has performed in over 160 movies and maintained a successful singing career as well.
Fan is a Mandopop singer who rose to stardom for her role as Jin Suo in the TV sitcom "Princess Pearl" in 1998. She has also starred in Chinese films "Contract Love" (2007), "Fuse, Flash Point" (2007), "Bodyguards and Assassins" (2009) and "Just Another Pandora's Box" (2010).
