Female songstress Younha has been seeking a termination of her contract with Lion Media, her agency of seven years.

Lion on Tuesday confirmed that the 23-year-old singer in April filed a petition to court requesting her exclusive contract with Lion to be invalidated although declining to reveal the reasons to her making the legal move.

The official then said "both sides are working at reaching a satisfactory agreement" and that Lion will soon announce its official stance on the matter.

Younha, who in 2004 made her debut in Japan first, earned the nickname 'Oricon comet' after becoming the second Korean artist after BoA to penetrate the top 20 spots on the prestigious Oricon chart.

The singer-songwriter has dominated local music charts as well with her hit songs "Password 486," "Comet" and "Telepathy."
