The release date for singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong's first solo album has been set for June 7, according to his agency KEYEAST on Thursday.


A press release by KEYEAST said that Kim's much-anticipated mini-album will become available online starting June 7 and offline the following day.

Kim's fans throughout Asia will be able to reserve their copies of the upcoming release starting tomorrow on the Korean online shopping websites of Hot Tracks, Yes24, Interpark and Aladdin.


Also, on the evening of album’s release online, Kim will hold a showcase attended by about 5,000 of his fans.

“As much as this is Kim's first solo album, he will present fans with a record that has a high level of completion while containing his own style and sensitivity...... He also believes he must show them the best performance," an official at KEYEAST was quoted as saying in the statement.


Kim, 24, made his debut as the leader of the popular boy band SS501 in 2005. He became a household name throughout Asia after starring in KBS’ smash hit series “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009.


The members of his group went separate ways in the summer of 2009 however, after their contract with DSP Media expired. Kim newly signed with KEYEAST.

He recently took part in a promotional event in Japan for drama “Naughty Kiss," the Korean small screen adaptation of the Japanese comic “Itazura na Kiss," in which he plays the role of Baek Sung-jo.
