Kim Hyun-joong participates in “Naughty Kiss” event in Japan
Singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong is in Japan to take part in a promotional event for his drama, informed his agency KEYEAST.
KEYEAST explained through a press release today that several hundreds of fans turned up at the airport in Osaka to greet Kim who flew into the country to take part in promotions for his drama “Naughty Kiss” set for today.
The drama itself is set to go on air on Fuji TV’s Hallyuα channel and KEYEAST’s Japanese cable channel DATV around mid-May.
Actress Jung So-min, who played the main female character opposite Kim will also take part in today’s event, set to be attended by a total of some 6,000 fans.
Part of the profits from the event will be donated to victims of the March 11 earthquake that has devastated the eastern part of the country.
“The event was originally set for March but had been delayed due to the earthquake,” an official of KEYEAST was quoted as saying in the statement. “We decided to arrange the event in a way that could best help the victims struck by the unexpected disaster.”
Kim, 24, made his debut as the leader of the popular boy band SS501 in 2005. He became a household name throughout Asia, starring in KBS’ smash hit series “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009.
He then played the role of Baek Sung-jo in “Naughty Kiss," the Korean small screen adaptation of the Japanese comic “Itazura na Kiss" last year and visited various countries in Asia to promote the show.
