Rainbow to release Daishi Dance song April 7

Seven-member girl group Rainbow will make a comeback to the local music scene with a song by popular Japanese artist Daishi Dance on April 7, according to the girls' agency DSP Media on Tuesday.

The song, titled "To Me," will be listed in Rainbow's second mini-album which will be released online first and hit stores on April 11.

"To Me," a powerful dance number incorporating delicate and emotional sounds from the piano, was created by Daishi Dance who is also a famed music producer, composer and DJ in Japan, who proposed the collaboration after hearing one of the girls' songs during a former visit to Korea.

He also praised the girls on his blog http://www.hfweb-blog.jp/dj_daze/ after having worked with them on the upcoming release, saying he was able to work with them like he has with other Japanese artists since they were fluent in his language.

He then added, "I was stimulated after seeing how hard they worked which resulted in the song turning out much better than I had planned for it to. I'm hoping it'll get released in Japan soon as well."

Daishi Dance, who has seen his own albums sweep several dance charts at home, is a well-known producer and composer of songs for other famous J-pop artists such as Hamasaki Ayumi, SMAP and Nakashima Mika. He also composed Korean idol group Big Bang’s hit song "Haru Haru” (Day after Day).

Rainbow, formed of members Kim Jae-kyung, Oh Seung-a, Koh Woo-ri, No Eul, Jung Yoon-hye, Kim Ji-sook and Cho Hyun-young, made their debut in November 2009 with their single "Gossip Girl."

They have been appearing as regulars for a Japanese TV show titled "HAN LOVE" which focuses on Korean entertainment since July.
