Korean girl group Sistar, set on expanding their singing career into Japan, will revv up for their debut in the country by performing at a music festival this weekend along with other K-pop stars.

A press release from their agency Starship Entertainment on Wednesday said that Sistar, the only girl group invited to the event, will be performing on the second day of Japan's "Korean Music Festival 2010" to be held in Sapporo and Tokyo on September 18 and 20, respectively.

"The upcoming concert will be the starting point of Sistar's music career in Japan and we are currently planning other promotional events and activities as well," an official from Starship explained.

The four-member girl group will be taking stage at the C.C. Lemon Hall in Tokyo next Monday, performing in front of fans as well as some 100 officials from local record companies including Sony Music and Pony Canyon and media outlets such as Fuji TV, NHK and TV Tokyo.

Sistar, composed of members Hyorin, Soyou, Dasom and Bora, made their debut with the single "Push Push" in June 2010. They recently released their second single "Shady Girl" which ranked within the top slots of several online and offline music charts.
