[JIMFF] Just have a lot of fun, says Chang Kiha

Of the artists performing today at ‘Retro Night,’ the first of the ‘One Summer Night’ series of the 6th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival’s main music event, CHANG KIHA & THE FACES are faces we are particularly familiar with.

Although their first album “Living the Nothing Special Life” sold over 10,000 copies and the band was considered the alternative to not just the indie scene but even Korean popular music, they rather lead easygoing lives.

“We had recorded our first album with a light heart but felt pressured afterwards because of the expectation. Then after spending about half a year like that, we decided that it’s probably better for both us and our fans who are looking forward to our album, to just make the record however we want without thinking about any of that.”

That is why these laid-back musicians who continue to live, or try to live nothing-special lives, say this to the audience visiting Jecheon. “Don’t pay attention to anything else, just do what you want. It doesn’t matter if you don’t watch our show, just have a lot of fun.”
