Singer Lee Seung-gi's recent hit song "Let's Break Up" has been accused of plagiarism.

Songwriter Sung-hwan on Wednesday filed a complaint against Kim Do-hoon and Lee Hyun-seung -- the two composers of the hit song -- saying they plagiarized his song from 2007.

"I was surprised to hear that some parts of the melody are similar but I wouldn't have plagiarized someone else's song in times like nowadays when the Internet is so well-developed," Kim told Asia Economic Daily over the phone. "It's not a famous song and I don't like it either so I wouldn't have made it similar to his on purpose.

Lee Hyung-seung said it was his first time hearing the song. "We made a song for Lee Seung-gi who is an extremely famous singer so there is no way we would plagiarize. I'm very perplexed," he stated.

He also explained that it would not be considered as plagiarism since the song is entirely different in structure and composition except for a few parts of the melody.
