Big Bang Daesung reaches settlement with family of dead motorcyclist
Big Bang member Daesung has reached a settlement with the family of a motorcyclist who died from a car accident he was involved in.
The news came from the publicist of Big Bang's agency YG Entertainment on Tuesday while adding she was not aware of any details on the settlement.
Nonetheless, with the settlement reached, Daesung will not face any legal punishment for the accident.
In late May, Daesung had failed to notice that the motorcyclist, identified only by his last name Hyun, was laying on the road from an accident, and ran over him as well as hitting a taxi driver who was checking on Hyun.
Police had then recommended that prosecutors indict the idol group member for being "negligent in his responsibility to look ahead of him...... which inflicted multiple injuries on him and led to his death."
Police did not claim that Daesung was solely responsible for the death -- Hyun had been on the ground after driving under the heavy influence of alcohol and falling off his bike after colliding into a streetlight on which he hit his head.
Big Bang, one of the most popular boy bands in Korea since their debut in 2006, has numerous hit songs under their belt.
