Rain in awe over encounter with Sting in New York

Asian pop sensation Rain has met with multi-Grammy Award winner Sting in New York.

Rain, currently at the gala party for TIME magazine's list for the 100 most influential people in the world in 2011, posted a photograph of himself and the legendary British singer together.

Alongside the photo, Rain wrote, "He knows me and we're even eating together... next to him. The best person who I have liked so much since I was young. I have nothing to say. Everyone it's Sting... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!"

Following his first recognition in 2006, Rain has become the only Asian to make TIME's prestigious list for the second time after topping the magazine's online poll this year.

Just hours ago, Rain also wrote, "Back in five years... I can't describe what this feeling is like in words! I thought that would be my first and last time but to think I'd be back! Would I be able to come back in a few years? Anyway thank you everyone. I'm going into the studio now."

Rain, one of biggest stars in Korea and throughout Asia since the start to his solo singing career in 2002, has expanded his career into acting including Hollywood where he made his debut in 2008 through the Wachowski Brothers' action pic "Speed Racer" and landed the lead role in martial arts film "Ninja Assassin" a year later.
