G.NA to stage as fashion model for first time
Songstress G.NA will make her runway debut today at a fashion show for Seoul Fashion Week, informed her agency Cube Entertainment on Thursday.
According to Cube, G.NA will take part in the “Lie Sang Bong Fashion Show” set to take place at Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention (SETEC) today during the 2011-2012/ F/W Seoul Fashion Week.
Lie, one of the most prominent designers in Korea based in Paris, is well known for incorporating various themes related to Korea into his work such as dresses adorned with patterns of Hangeul, the Korean language. He plans to feature a modern re-interpretation of the old eastern philosophy of Zen in his upcoming show.
“I have always been interested in fashion in general and have been impressed by how Lie incorporates Korean cultural themes into fashion,” G.NA was quoted as saying on the statement upon joining Lie’s collection.
“I was able to feel a pure form of passion exuding from her even from the television and I would like to bring forth that innocence and mystery hidden within her sexy look,” Lie explained of his reason for choosing G.NA for his show.
G.NA, whose real name is Choi Gina, made her official debut in 2002 with the song “Wrongful Expectations,” for the soundtrack to MBC’s drama “Dangerous Man.”
She released her single "Things I want to do When I Have a Lover" which features Asian superstar Rain in September 2010 and followed it up with the song "I'll Back Off" from her first mini-album.
She enjoyed a successful return to the local music scene with her first full-length album “Black&White” which swept various online and offline music charts with its title track of the same name.
Having wrapped up her activities for “Black&White” last week, she will now work on a new album and promotional activities in Asia.
