Female idol group miss A has been named promotional ambassador for this year’s Together Day, announced the Ministry of Justice on Tuesday.

According to a press release by the ministry today, there will be an official ceremony appointing the four-member girl group as PR ambassadors for Together Day at the government complex in Gwacheon on April 4.

Together Day, which is the Korean version of cosmopolitan day that falls on May 20 of every year, is celebrated with for a week with various events and ceremonies for the immigrant community. It has been established by the government to strengthen understanding and bonding between locals and foreign national residents in Korea.

The ministry explained that they chose miss A since they are a multinational group composed of two Korean nationals and two Chinese nationals and are the most appropriate example to promote the initiatives of the day.

“I believe there are lots of similarity between the Together Day and our group members who get along with each other despite difference in nationality and culture,” Min, one of the vocals of group was quoted as saying on the statement.

miss A, composed of Koreans Min and Suzy and Chinese Fei and Jia, made their debut in July last year with "Bad Girl Good Girl" which swept numerous music charts for several weeks and followed it up with their second single album "Step Up" whose title track "Breathe" also proved to be a big hit.

The group's members are currently busy pursuing individual activities and preparing their next album.
