J-pop Tomohisa Yamashita’s first concert in Korea in April
J-pop sensation Yamashita Tomohisa (aka. Yamapi) will come to Korea for his first concert in Seoul next month, announced the concert’s promoter CJ E&M on Tuesday.
According to a press release by CJ E&M, Yamapi’s concert “TOMOHISA YAMASHITA ASIA TOUR 2011 Super good Super bad” will be held on April 16 and 17 at the KBS 88 Gymnasium.
As the concert, held in time with the release of his latest single album titled “SUPER GOOD SUPER BAD” which was released in Korea last Wednesday and ranked No.1 in the J-pop category, is expected to feature songs mostly from the album.
“You can also look forward to seeing a fancy stage with colorful costumes and powerful performances,” Yamapi was quoted as saying in the statement, adding that he has been wanting to come to Korea for quite some time now.
The concert is also part of Yamapi’s Asia tour for which he will perform in countries including Taiwan and Thailand. He already held a concert in Hong Kong in January this year.
Meanwhile, this will not be Yamapi’s first trip to Korea as he dropped by the country last month to participate in cable music channel Mnet's live music show “M! CountDown” to perform “PARTY DON’T STOP.”
Yamapi, 25, is also an actor who has appeared in numerous TV series and movies including dramas "Code Blue 2," and "Buzzer Beat" and a film "Ashita no Joe," (2011) since making an acting debut ten years ago.

His singing career, both solo and as a member of Japanese boy band NEWS since 2004, have been successful as well, placing within the top slots of Japan's prestigious Oricon charts.
