CGV provides English subtitles for “Heaven”

Major theatre chain CJ CGV multiplex is providing English subtitles for Korean movie “Closer to Heaven”, starring Kim Myung-min and Ha Ji-won, according to CGV on Tuesday.

“Foreigners have been asking about the film so we decided to provide English subtitle for showings at theatres in Yongsan and Guro in Seoul and Ansan in Gyeonggi.” said an official at CJ.

CJ said it is also considering expanding the service to other areas upon request by more foreigners.

Every year, about four to six Korean films are shown with English subtitles in consideration of foreigners and English learners. This year, vampire flick “Thirst” and indie hit “Old Partner” were presented with English subtitles.

"Heaven" topped the Korean box office this weekend in its first week of release.
