Indie singer Russian Red to come to Korea
Spanish singer-songwriter Russian Red will visit Korea this week, revealed broadcaster EBS on Friday.
According to the official website of EBS channel’s TV program “EBS SPACE GONGGAM,” the female indie singer who is coming to Korea for the first time in time with the release of her second album in the country, will perform at EBS Space Hall in Seoul on June 15.
Russian Red, 25, was born as Lourdes Hernandez and her name as a musician, after her favorite lipstick color, became known after she uploaded her song onto MySpace which received over 70,000 hits and became an instant hit across the border.
Her official debut album “I Love You Glasses" in 2008 claimed Gold Record status in her homeland after selling over 40,000 copies in the country.
She then went on to perform abroad in several countries including the United States, Belgium and Argentina and further solidified her reputation by participating in making soundtracks for films and dramas.
Her second album “Fuerteventura” released this year that contains chamber pop music, was completed through the participation of Britain’s famed music producer Tony Doogan who has worked with other well- known bands such as Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub, Super Furry Animals.

She will sing “Everyday Every night,” “I Hate You But I Love You” and “Cigarettes Revisited” among others for her upcoming performance in Korea while assisted by the guitar and drum by Carlos Miguel Baurista and Vicente Juan Minara, respectively.
