Rain to hold joint concert with German cellist Jan Vogler
Asian pop sensation Rain will take part in Germany's Dresden Music Festival this month, singing in a joint show with the country's top cellist Jan Vogler.
The website for the Dresden Music Festival showed Monday that the two artists will take to the stage of the Semperoper opera house and concert hall in Dresden on May 19, performing for their concert named "RAIN & VOGLER" under the subtitle of "Asian Pop meets European Classics."
Their performance, falling on the second day of the close to two week-long fest which is considered one of Germany's largest classic music events, will fuse pop and classical music.
Vogler, also General Director of the Dresden fest, is a multi-award-winning cellist who became the youngest concertmaster in the history of orchestra.
He has played with some of the world's most pre-eminent conductors and internationally renowned orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Dresden Staatskapelle, and Montreal Symphony Orchestra, but it will be his first time to play with a foreign artist.
