Super Junior concert to hit theaters in 3D film format
Fans will be able to watch boy band Super Junior’s concert from last year in 3D format in movie theaters starting later this month, announced the film’s distributor SBS Plus on Wednesday.
SBS Plus, a cable channel that airs TV series from SBS public network, announced in a press release today that the first leg of Super Junior’s third Asia-wide tour “SUPER SHOW 3” held in Seoul last August, will be screened in 16 CGV theaters nationwide starting February 24.
“SUPER SHOW 3,” which kicked off with the concert in Seoul, was also held in other Asian cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manilla and Yokohama.
Super Junior, which is known as one of the largest boy bands in the world, debuted in late 2005 with many hit songs such as “Sorry Sorry,” “U” and “Don’t Don” but has been promoting themselves with just 10 members recently due to member Kang-in is serving his mandatory military duties, Kibum focusing on his acting career and Hangeng seeking termination of his contract with SM.

Nevertheless, the boys have been one of the most popular K-pop acts in the Asia region with continuing popularity, most recently being named as the group that sold most albums in 2010 according to the estimates by Korea Music Content Industry Association (KMCIA) earlier this week.
