Police plan to indict pop idol group Super Junior member Kang-in for assault after confirming he was physically involved in a fight last week, an official said Monday.

"We plan to have seven people, including Kang-in, charged for assault," an official at Seoul Gangnam Police Station told Asia Economic Daily over the phone.

"We confirmed through examination of the CCTV footage that Kang-in carried out violence," the official explained.

Another official said, "The video showed one person continuously trying to pick a fight with Kang-in. It looked like Kang-in was trying to avoid him but being only human, he failed to control his feelings to the end and engaged in a slight physical scuffle."
