The latest work by Korean director Shinterra has been awarded the top prize at the 8th annual LA 3-D Movie Festival held in Los Angeles, according to the official website of the fest on Wednesday.

Shinterra's pic "27 Years Later," originally produced for the Seoul International Extreme - Short Image and Film Festival in Korea, received the first place jury award at the film fest held at the Downtown Independent Theater from May 14 to 15.

"27 Years Later" tells the story of a scientist named Dr. Sim who built a time machine which could only be used once. He turns the clock back a year with lottery information but lands 27 years later due to a suspicious man's interruption.

Other winners at the fest included animated film "UYUYUI!" by Santiago Caicedo of Estudio Timbo in Colombia, "My Dream" by Korean auteur Joy Park and the audience favorite award was handed to comedy flick "Thicker Than Water" by Tommy Tripodes.
