Korean idol Hwang Kwang-hee of boy band ZE:A has suffered an injury to his ankle, according to his agency Star Empire Entertainment on Monday.

A press release by Star Empire over the weekend explained that the singer lost his footing while practicing the dance moves for the title track "Here I Am" from their first full-length album "LOVABILITY," which slightly strained his ligament.

"Kwang-hee was unable to take part in the special dance battle performance with the rest of the members of ZE:A, INFINITE and Dalmatian for Friday's music show 'Music Bank,'" a PR official told 10Asia over the phone.

She went to explain, "He cheered them on during their performance and has taken the stage for other music programs over the weekend while his ankle injury will take about four weeks to fully heal."

Kwang-hee made his debut in the nine-member group ZE:A (Children of Empire) in January of last year. They splashed onto the music scene with title track "Mazeltov" from their first mini-album "Nativity" and followed it up with "Leap For Detonation" and "Level Up."

The boys branched out into the music market in Japan after performing on music program "SEOUL TRAIN," which introduces K-pop artists to local fans, in early March 2010 and signed with Japanese entertainment company IMX two months later.
