Super Junior-M triumphs on music charts of China, Taiwan

Korean boy band Super Junior-M’s new album has been sweeping the music charts in China and Taiwan shortly after its release in the countries late last month, revealed their agency SM Entertainment on Tuesday.

A press release by SM explained that Super Junior-M’s second mini-album “Perfection” (太完美) ranked first on China’s top music program "China TOP Music Chart" on March 5, which is being aired on BTV and other 100 broadcasting stations across China.

The album, which was also released in Taiwan on February 25, placed No.1 on the country’s top radio music chart "HIT FM Hito" as of March 4 and yielded the highest sales figures according to estimates by the weekly music chart by major record chains Kuang Nan and CCR-MUSIC.

“Perfection” features a total of six songs, including the title track of the same name which is a dance number, and the two other tracks “Off My Mind,” and “True Love,” written by members Henry and Zhou Mi.

The group is currently busy promoting its album, making appearances in various Chinese entertainment shows, accepting interviews and posing for promotion photos.

Super Junior-M, composed of other members Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk and Sungmin was first formed in April 2008 as the third sub-group of Super Junior aimed for music that especially targets Chinese audience.

The group released their first album ‘迷 (Me)' and received the award for Best Group in 2008 and followed it up with their first mini-album “SUPER GIRL” in September 2009. The members were also hired as models to advertise for global soft drink brand Pepsi and China's mobile phone brand OPPO.

Other units of Super Junior include Super Junior-T, Super Junior-K.R.Y. and Super Junior-Happy.
