South Korean cable channel tvN is set to be broadcasted throughout Asia starting October 26, according to CJ Media on Tuesday.
CJ, which owns the cable channel, explained in a press release that tvN will air in about one million households in Asian countries, including Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
"'tvN Asia' will start to be broadcast through Indonesia's satellite TV Indovision, AORA TV and Philippine's cable TV Global Destiny, beginning October 26," an official at CJ was quoted as saying in the statement.
tvN Asia is also set for broadcast on Taiwan's cable TV TBD in November and Hong Kong's IPTV NOW TV in December, which means that tvN will be seen by about one million households in four countries.
The programs set to air are CJ Media's most popular shows, including documentary drama "Youngae", combat sports drama "Matzzang", celebrity travel show "She's Olive" and other entertainment programs.
tvN Asia plans to further extend its broadcasting regions in Asia, aiming for a total three million households by 2011 in eight countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
