Korean pic "Punch" invited to film festival in Berlin
Korean movie "Punch," starring Yoo A-in and Kim Yun-seok, has been invited to the Berlin International Film Festival which will take place in February of next year.
The film's local distributor CJ Entertainment announced in a press release on Thursday that "Punch" will be screened under the 'Generation' category of the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany for ten days starting February 9.
"Punch" will be the second Korean film to be screened under the section for children and young adults, after director Lee Hae-young's 2007 movie "Like A Virgin."
Based on the award-winning, best-selling novel of the same name by Kim Ryeo-reyong, "Punch" tells the story of Wan-duk (Yoo), a troubled high school student from a poor household, that always gets into fights and trouble from his homeroom teacher named Lee Dong-joo, played by actor Kim.
It is the third most-watched Korean film in 2011 following after "Arrow the Ultimate Weapon" and "Sunny."

“Punch” has attracted almost 5.1 million moviegoers and topped the local box office for six consecutive weeks since opening in the country on October 20.
