Bae Yong-joon down with sepsis

Top Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon has been hospitalized with sepsis caused due to overwork, according to his agency on Sunday.

"He was admitted to the hospital on Friday after collapsing from overwork but was then diagnosed with early stage sepsis," said an official at BOF Entertainment. "His immunity seems to have dropped from overwork and stress."

"He wasn't doing very well for the past three days but he is doing much better now," the official said of the actor who is receiving IV medication at a hospital in Gangnam, south of Seoul.

The official went on to explain: "He is still planning on attending the publishing event for his book but the hospital is advising him not to."

Bae is set to hold a publishing event tomorrow for his photo essay, tentatively titled "Journey in Search of Beauty of Korea - Bae Yong-joon", in Korea and another in Tokyo, Japan on September 29 and 30.

The book contains photographs and essays about Korean culture and travel locations written by the actor over a one-year period.
