Korean pop artists, including Shinee, Kara and Ryan, will perform at the "Thai-Korea Friends Concert" next week.

The event, co-hosted by the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange(KOFICE) and Thai Ministry of Commerce, is aimed at maintaining friendly relations and two-way cultural exchange between the Korea and Thailand.

Korean musicians performing in the show include Shinee, Kara, Ryan (leader of boy band Paran) and a Korean traditional percussion ensemble. Thai artists Gold & Mike, ICE and Namcha will represent their country.

In addition to exchanging pop music, the Korean artists will also visit several welfare facilities, including a Thai orphanage to deliver goods such as Hangul-written t-shirts, school supplies and snacks.

"Currently, the Korean Wave has reached its peak in Thailand", explained Mr. Kim Young-hoon, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at KOFICE. "In order for this to continue, many mutual friendly exchange events like this, not just commercial ones, should occur more frequently."

The "Thai-Korea Friends Concert" will be held at Park Paragon, Bangkok on September 17 and is scheduled to air on True Satellite Television, the largest satellite broadcaster in Thailand.
