Male group Big Bang completed their two week-long concert tour in Japan yesterday, informed their agency YG Entertainment on Friday.
A press release by YG said the five-member band wrapped up their Japanese concert titled “Love&Hope” after holding a total eight concerts in the cities of Osaka, Tokyo and Nagoya from May 10 to 19 that recorded a complete sell out and attracted over 100,000 fans.
Yesterday, Big Bang performed not only to the Japanese versions of their songs but also their latest hits in Korean such as “TONIGHT” and "LOVE SONG,” while further heating up the stage with solo performances by Seungri, Taeyang and Daesung, and unit performances by GD&T.O.P.
The statement added that their concert was also attended by local TV producers and TV celebrities who left reviews on the concert on their blogs.
This week, Big Bang's latest Japanese studio release 『BIGBANG 2』, which went on sale in the country on May 11, took the No. 1 spot on the prestigious Oricon's weekly albums chart after selling 65,000 copies.
They will start working on a new album after taking a break from the recent tour.
Big Bang, which debuted in K-pop scene in 2006, rose to fame with several hit songs and albums such as "Lies" and "Haru Haru."
They then advanced into the Japanese music market in June 2009 with their debut single "My Heaven" which reached No. 3 on the Oricon daily singles chart.
The quintet have released other singles in Japan such as "Tell Me Goodbye" and "Beautiful Hangover" and performed on the main stage at the Summer Sonic Festival August last year.
