Kim Hyung-jun scores 2nd acting role in SBS Plus drama
Korean singer Kim Hyung-jun has landed his second acting role as the male lead in an upcoming SBS Plus drama, according to his agency S-Plus Entertainment.
A rep with S-Plus told 10Asia on Wednesday that Kim will take on the role of Jung Min-chae who is a smart public service worker in the series "Late Blossom," which is based on the cartoon by Kangfull, set to air on SBS' cable channel SBS Plus in early April.
"Late Blossom," which is SBS Plus' first long-term drama, will also star veteran actor Lee Soon-jae who acted in the movie version that opened in theaters in February of last year.
"Kim has been busy preparing for this role and he hopes to show how much he has grown as an actor through 'Late Blossom,'" the official at S-Plus explained.
Kim made his debut as the youngest member of the popular boy band SS501 in 2005. He signed with S-Plus Entertainment after the group's contract with DSP Media expired.
Kim has since starred in the musical “Cafe In” and made his comeback to the music scene with his first mini-album "My Girl" and led an active singing career in Japan after singing with AVEX last year.
